About Us

Jim opened his law office in Glenwood City in March of 1998; prior to that he worked for six years as a lawyer for a large western Wisconsin retailer and practiced for several years in the Twin Cities. His practice is supported by Jennifer, his legal assistant, who has been with the office since 2005. Jim offers a wide variety of legal services from bankruptcy to divorce, real estate to probate. For many years, he has served as City Attorney for Glenwood City and has provided legal assistance to other area municipalities.

He will happily discuss personal injury and worker’s compensation cases with injured parties and refer them to an experienced trial lawyer at no charge to the client. Our office maintains a casual atmosphere and everyday except a court day is casual Friday.

About Jim:
Jim is a self admitted “mud duck”. He grew up in north Minneapolis and attended Patrick Henry High School. In school he played sports and wrote for the paper. He developed a passion for cross-country skiing and golf, hobbies he still enjoys.

Jim graduated from Gustavus in St. Peter, Minnesota where he played on the conference champion men’s soccer team, wrote for the paper, and was copy editor of the yearbook. Prior to law school Jim worked as an intern and staffer at the Minnesota State Legislature.

Jim attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and worked as a lobbyist for the Minnesota Grocers Association and later as a judicial law clerk at Hennepin County District Court. After graduating, he joined a law practice in north Minneapolis where he worked for eight years until accepting a position in Eau Claire in 1991. Since becoming a lawyer, Jim has assisted thousands of clients with their important legal matters. He would be happy to help you.

Jim resides in Menomonie Wisconsin with his wife and their two cats. He has served as president of the Glenwood City Chamber of Commerce and of the Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club. He has participated as a volunteer lawyer with the St. Croix County Bar Association volunteer legal clinic and as a Judge for high school mock court competitions. He is on the board of the Glenhaven Care Center and is currently vice-president of the Board of Indianhead Industries in Menomonie, WI.

For hobbies he camps, bikes, skis, and golfs.

About Glenwood City, Wisconsin
Glenwood City is a community of about 1,200 people located about 10 miles north of the Kwik Trip at exit 28 on I94. Glenwood City was incorporated in 1884 and was originally the site of a large lumbering and millwork manufacturing concern. Situated on the Soo Line railway in eastern St. Croix County, Glenwood was the site of a “whistle-stop” speech by Teddy Roosevelt during the 1912 presidential campaign. Today, Glenwood’s main street offers a bank, full service grocery, hardware store, restaurants, C-store, taverns, and a branch of the Mayo Health Systems Red Cedar. Just down the road on Highway 170 is the Dunn County Village of Downing, with 285 residents and several more businesses.

Glenwood City is a welcoming community with a school noted for both its academic and athletic achievements. As Glenwood City is only fifteen miles from Baldwin and Spring Valley, and twenty some miles from Menomonie and New Richmond, it is convenient to many area residents. It is also in close proximity to Knapp, Woodville, Clear Lake, and Clayton. The Dunn County line and village of Downing is less than one mile from the city limits.
